So I finally got around to trying out this “Digsby” that none of my friends have been talking about. And I must say…”Impressed I am.”
I’m not going to tell you all of the features that digsby has, mainly because their own website does a great job at this.
Although still in beta, this is a must have. It replaced Pidgin (previously GAIM) for me (which previously replaced both meebo and trillian). I really like the social network integration (mainly because I hate to ever go to myspace and facebook, even though I have accounts there).
Oh guess what, unlike the proprietary clients that the big companies (Yahoo, AOL, MSN) all provide, there are no ads!
Plus it uses IM window skins like Adium for the Mac has. Plus you have these tool tips (like msn in a way..only way cooler) that pop up with what the person said to you + their photo + a text box for you to respond…all without re-opening the IM chat window.
I am extremely impressed at how fast it is too (unlike trillian). So try it out, I promise you’ll like it.

So I stumbled upon this video talking about OpenID and the future of a single login across all of that thing called the internet, primarily “Web 2.0″ type sites like; WordPress, LiveJournal, AOL, and other junk out there that people can’t live without. The idea isn’t new, but the technology that they are actually using is. Take a look, experiment.
Tech Safe,
Matt
